Moose Lodge #2168 (Centreville Moose Lodge) has been in the City of Fairfax for over 25 years. We were chartered in Centreville in 1972 and moved to the City of Fairfax in 1997.  We have been supporting the charities and civic organizations in Fairfax that share our passion for assistance to children, the elderly, veterans, and first responders.

We are a fraternal organization of men and women who believe in protection of children of all ages. Much of our fund-raising and charitable giving is in support of our national charity, Mooseheart. Mooseheart is a residential childcare facility, located on a 1,000-acre campus 38 miles west of Chicago. The Child City is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school. It is a safe home where children can prosper and grow into responsible adults. The Moose fraternity provides children with a wholesome home-like environment and the best possible training and education. All Moose Lodges across the Country share in the support of this wonderful city of hope. Our support for the elderly is manifested in our support of the city of contentment, Moose Haven. Moose Haven is a retirement community for Moose Members. It is located in Orange Park, Florida on the St. John’s river. Retired Moose members can find a home where they can live out their retired lives in happiness and security.

In addition to Mooseheart and Moosehaven, the Moose fraternity’s Heart of the Community effort is multifaceted with internally developed programs like Tommy Moose. Tommy Moose aids in helping children overcome fears and anxiety during times of stress. Donated to law enforcement, fire fighters and other emergency workers, Tommy Moose plush dolls are presented to children in various traumatic situations. We are extremely proud to be the sponsor for the Appalachian Honor Flight. We host approximately 25 veterans and their escorts for dinner on Friday evening at the Moose Lodge and provide them lunches while on tour of the nation’s war memorials.

The external focus of our service is directed towards many worthwhile national charities, a few of which are: Salvation Army, Safe Surfin’ USA Foundation, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, and St. Jude.

The Moose is about celebrating life together, serving those in need within our local community, supporting our children at Mooseheart and standing by our senior members at Moosehaven.
